No More Winging It: How I'm Finally Marketing with Purpose

This week, something finally clicked—and it didn’t even come from the assigned readings in Intro to Entrepreneurship (sorry about that!). While those were insightful, the real breakthrough came from the intersection of my Business Exploration/Orientation and Sales & Customer Relations classes. Specifically, the combined focus on entrepreneurial marketing techniques, promotional strategies, and career paths in marketing opened my eyes to what’s been missing from my own business efforts with NutriThrive Fitness.

Looking back, my marketing efforts have been minimal and mostly centered around pouring countless hours into Instagram content. Inspirational posts, reels, stories—you name it. But none of it brought in clients. And honestly, I didn’t have thick enough skin at the time to handle the lack of external validation (likes, shares, follows—you know, the usual dopamine hits). My overthinking brain kept wondering if I was wasting my time. (I wasn’t—but I was doing it all wrong.)

Now, after this week’s deep dive into promotional mixes and entrepreneurial marketing, I’m seeing things differently. I’m realizing just how much marketing depends on creating genuine connection and providing meaningful value—the kind that earns trust, sparks transformation, and inspires action.

For NutriThrive Fitness to grow and thrive, here are the two promotional strategies that align powerfully with my mission and audience:

1. Strategic Partnerships with Health Professionals

This is where trust is built instantly. Mental health counselors, psychiatrists, women’s health specialists, naturopathic and functional medicine doctors—they’re already walking alongside the very women I’m meant to serve. If I can position myself as the “missing link” between therapy and thriving, we all win.

I don’t have experience forming these partnerships—yet. So step one? Learn how. I envision a future where I’m offering free workshops or simple resource guides to educate health professionals on how powerful we can be together in helping women find the deep healing they long for.

2. Digital Content That Nurtures and Converts

I’m coming back to social media with a new mindset. No more chasing likes—just consistent, authentic content that educates, supports, and uplifts. I’m finally taking action on starting that podcast I’ve been dreaming about, building an email list, and becoming an email marketing machine.

I’ll be repurposing content like a pro—think: one podcast episode = 3 Instagram + Facebook + tiktok posts or reels, 1 email, and 1 story. I’m weaving together reels, podcasts, and blogs to meet women where they are emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. The goal? Spread my message across multiple platforms, build trust, offer real value, and help create lasting change.

(But first, can someone tell me how to manage time to successfully juggle family, school, content creation, partnership outreach, sleep, exercise, getting enough protein, clients, and a church calling without making their cortisol levels sky rocket? Let me know. I need answers people!)

So yes, I’m walking away from this week not just with textbook knowledge, but with a strategy shift that I truly believe will lead to growth. I’m letting go of spinning my wheels on social media hoping someone will find me. I’m creating multiple connection points—intentional, relational, and deeply aligned with the women I’m here to serve.

This is entrepreneurial marketing that actually feels like me.
